Woof! Hi there, it’s me, Benny! Let me tell you about something crazy that happened recently. You see, I’m a pretty shy pup. I like my cozy bed, my favorite squeaky toy, and, most of all, being at home with my Pawrents. They’re my whole world, and I miss them so much whenever they leave. But this time, something different happened. Something big! No Boarding of Family house sitters for me this time! It's time for a big adventure!
It all started one sunny morning when I noticed my Pawrents doing something strange. They were packing! Now, I’ve seen this before—big suitcases, folded clothes, and all sorts of stuff going into bags. Usually, this means one thing: they’re going somewhere, and I’m staying behind. I was sure this time would be the same. I watched them with my sad puppy eyes, hoping they wouldn’t forget me while they packed. My sad eyes hadn't worked before, but maybe this time things would be different? I am a big boy now, not a baby anymore! Big boys can travel with their Pawrents so I was excited to see if I could pull it off!
Sure enough, something incredible happened. My bed… yes, my actual bed, and my toys were being packed too! Wait, what’s going on? I wagged my tail a little, still unsure. Are they taking me with them? Nah, that couldn’t be. But before I knew it, they picked me up, bed and all, and loaded me into the car with their big suitcase! I didn’t know where we were going, but this was new and exciting—and a bit scary too. Would Mommy let me put. my head out the window like I see in Movies? I'm wasn't sure if I was ready for all that, but luckily, Mommy is a little overprotective, so the windows stayed up!
The drive was long, and I couldn’t help but wonder, “Where are we going? Why did they bring my bed? Are we ever coming back home?” I’m a homebody, after all. But I trust my Pawrents, so I snuggled into my bed in the back seat and tried to enjoy the ride. We listened to cool music like we do at home and stopped a couple of times for a potty break and yummy food - wow this is fun! Is this what hoomans call a "road trip"? WOWZA!
After what felt like forever, we finally stopped. The sign outside said “Horseshoe Casino,” and there were so many people! We got off the car and went through a big glass door, I had to look up at Mommy to make sure we were in the right place. Once we got in I took a good sniff around what I heard Mommy tell Daddy was a "lobby", there other puppies like me there too - is Mommy planning a playdate for me?
I’d never seen anything like it. There were bright lights, strange noises (I later learned they were called “slot machines”), and so many hoomans bustling around. My heart raced. What was this place? Were we really staying here? I had never seen so many hoomans in one place. Any why were they all yelling? They don't look mad, so it must be fun. I started to feel more confident and excited with the bright lights!
But my Pawrents didn’t leave me behind; they took me right up to our suite. As soon as we stepped inside, I couldn’t believe my eyes. This wasn’t just any room—it was huge! There was a big bed (almost as comfy as mine), a giant window with a view, and even a spot where my Pawrents put my bed and toys. It was like my little piece of home right there in this strange new place.
When my Pawrents went out for a while, I tried to be brave. I explored every corner of the room, sniffing all the new smells and making sure everything was safe. I even found a cool new spot by the window where I could watch the people below. But I couldn’t wait for them to come back. And when they finally did, I was so happy I could hardly stand still! I wagged my tail so hard I thought it might fall off! I had so much to show them—like the funny mirror on the closet door and the cozy rug by the bed.
After a lot of cuddles and excitement, it was finally time to sleep. I curled up in my bed, feeling safe and happy. This adventure had been fun, but nothing beats falling asleep with my Pawrents close by.
The next morning, we hit the road again, heading back to our cozy home in Allen, Texas. As much as I loved our adventure, I couldn’t wait to tell my pup friends about it. I felt like the luckiest pup ever—going on a trip with my Pawrents, seeing new things, and then coming back home where I belong.
And you know what? Now I know my Pawrents are the best. They always take care of me, no matter where we go. I can’t wait to see where our next adventure will take us! Woof!
THANKS MOMMY AND DADDY!
